l believe the optimum weight a horse should carry is 10-15% of their own weight. So if, like my oldest horse, it weighs 750kg then the rider should weigh no more than 112kg (17st 6lb)

Actually I am. Both her father and mother were slow growers and Shires keep growing until they are 6years plus. She also had a rough start so grew 4 inches in her 3-4th years so its entirely possible.

Also the hardner for the barefoot hooves I was thinking of was Formaldehyde. Have to apply with gloves as is nasty for our skin but fab for hooves Smile

The only one I can possibly shed any light on is the odd number. The extra (odd) flight is one for the judge I believe. So say 12 or 14 flights for the horse and the 13th or 15th for the judge Smile
