So, something to write about...
after 3 years of struggling with my mare to get any sort of bond I became terrified of riding her, I met a fabulous instructor - Robert Wilmot, a 'travelling equine producer' who introduced me & Lola to driving!
After the first lesson she was responding to me, doing as i asked for the most part, after 2 she was a different horse.
I got a carriage which needed some work to transform it from a 2 horse to a single.
in the meantime I was persuaded into trying riding her again... because I'd been long reining her she listened to me from the start and.... i LOVED riding her! Never thought I'd ever say that! Shes still very nappy but we're getting there.
Carriage is sorted now so its our first lesson in shafts tomorrow... wish us luck!
Some Photos....
My partner and Lola this summer getting 2nd in the barren shire mare class...
Our 2nd riding lesson...
Lola & Brutus on a chilly morning...
Us out long reining today....
And just a sneaky one of me and Brutus in the Northern Heavy Horse Ridden Class this summer....
Oh and a favourite of mine from a photo shoot in August....
Enough photo action for you all??

Thanks everyone here are a few more of the girly...
After a schooling session (I just love her winter colouring!)
2nd time in carriage!
And our latest venture... Learning to jump!
I'm looking for cheap stuff to use as jump equipment if anyone hears of anything, nothing big and doesn't have to be special we are loving the new challenges! |
