I'm looking for a stallion for our 7 year old mare, before I send my money up north to the usual suspects I want to make sure I haven't missed any here in Devon or surrounding areas, Cornwall, Somerset etc.

Skeyton Matthew is a southern premium stallion, if you contact the shire horse society they will give you details. He is a lovely boy with a quiet temperament. Good luck.

Hello, thanks for the tip, we've just called them and unfortunately the owners have moved and now don't have the facilities to cover mares so wont be breeding from him any more, a real shame, they have given us details of one of his sons but are not sure if he's been graded yet or not.

so the hunt continues......

Really, I didn't know that and what a surprise. I know they rode Matthew and he was a wonderful ride so maybe they have pulled out of the stud game. That is such a shame because he is a wonderful horse.
